The SONIC IO Unit is an ultrasonic range sensing module designed to connect with GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output) pins. It features the RCWL-9620 ultrasonic distance measurement chip, coupled with a 16mm probe. This sensor is capable of measuring distances ranging from 2cm to 450cm, with an accuracy of up to ±2%.
This unit calculates the distance to objects by timing the interval between the emission and reception of ultrasonic pulses. Users can easily obtain distance readings directly through controlling the GPIO pins connected to the sensor.
